Golf Rehab and TPI Assessment in Fort Lauderdale

You've tried fitted clubs, swing lessons, and hours on the range. If your back aches after a round or your elbow hurts at impact, the problem may be your body, not your equipment. Our team, with TPI-certified physical therapist Dr. Nicole Lescano leading golf evaluations, finds the limits behind your pain and your swing faults, and fixes them.

Golf injuries we treat

Golf is precision, power, and repetition. Thousands of swings and long periods in the same posture let injuries sneak up on good players. Tap where it hurts to learn more.

Weak glutes and core with tight hips leave the lower back doing the hips' job.

MOST COMMON

A stiff upper back makes the shoulder work harder at the top of the backswing.

LEAD SHOULDER

Golfers need about 70° of neck rotation to keep their eyes on the ball.

ROTATION

Casting, scooping, and chicken winging overload the tendons at the elbow.

IMPACT

Is your body causing your swing fault?

Many swing faults aren't technique problems. They're your body compensating for a mobility or stability limit. Fix the limit, and the swing gets easier to fix.

How does AVION's golf rehab work?

Step 1

FIND IT. The 14-point TPI physical assessment

Led by Dr. Nicole Lescano, our TPI-certified physical therapist, the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) screen tests whether your body has the mobility and stability your swing needs. If you're injured, we also examine the painful area and use diagnostic ultrasound where it helps.

Setup posture

Single-leg balance

Hamstring flexibility

Hip hinge

Hip rotation

Glute strength / control

Squat depth

Pelvic rotation and tilt

Upper back rotation

Torso rotation

Lat flexibility

Shoulder mobility

Wrist range of motion

Neck range of motion

Step 2

FIX IT.

Spinal manipulation and joint mobilization

Ultrasound Guided Dry Needling
Focused shockwave therapy
Red light therapy (photobiomodulation)

Manual therapy: soft tissue and joint mobilization

Step 3

FORTIFY IT.

A golf-specific program that builds the four things every efficient swing needs, in order, so you can play pain-free.

The four building blocks of a better swing

Each one depends on the one before it. Power without mobility and stability turns into strain.

Mobility

Hips, upper back, shoulders, and ankles that rotate freely, so your lower back doesn't have to.

1.

Stability

Strong glutes and core that hold your posture from setup through impact.

2.

Sequencing

Separating upper and lower body so power starts from the ground, not your arms.

3.

Power

Turning that sequence into clubhead speed, without strain.

4.

Not injured? Get a TPI assessment anyway.

If you're healthy but stuck on distance or consistency, the TPI screen shows which physical limits are holding your swing back, and gives you a program to fix them.

Golf rehab FAQ

What is a TPI assessment?

A physical screen from the Titleist Performance Institute that tests 14 areas, from hip and upper back rotation to balance and glute strength, to show which body limits affect your swing.

Can I keep playing golf during rehab?

Yes, if your dentist recommended one. It protects your teeth while we treat the muscles causing the tension.

Is dry needling the same as acupuncture?

No. It uses the same thin needles, but the placement and purpose are different: it targets trigger points and tight muscles to reduce pain and restore muscle function.

Do I need a referral?

No. We're direct access, so we can see you without a prescription for up to 30 days.

How long is the first visit?

60 minutes, or 90 with our signature option, including 15–20 minutes of treatment so recovery starts on day one.
