Physical therapy helps people improve movement, reduce pain, and recover from injuries or surgeries. At AVION, our team of Doctors of Physical Therapy (DPTs) uses evidence-based techniques to treat musculoskeletal conditions, promote healing, and optimize performance. We specialize in guiding active adults to overcome pain and perform without limits, at the gym, track, or golf course without the limitations of the current healthcare systems.
We treat a wide range of conditions including sports injuries, back and neck pain, post-surgical recovery, joint pain, tendonitis, mobility limitations, balance issues, and more. Learn more about our services.
Your first visit will include a detailed evaluation by a DPT, a review of your medical history, movement assessments, and a customized treatment plan. You may also begin treatment during this session. Each session is a full hour long, one on one with the Doctor.
The number of sessions varies depending on your condition, goals, and response to treatment. Your therapist will provide a personalized plan of care after your initial evaluation. Most of our patients see results as early as 1-3 sessions.
Wear comfortable, athletic clothing that allows easy movement and access to the area being treated. For example, if you have a knee condition, we recommend wearing shorts so our clinicians can access the knee area.

Absolutely not! While physical therapy is highly effective for injury rehabilitation, a significant and often overlooked aspect of our work at AVION Sports Rehab is proactive care for injury prevention and performance enhancement. For active adults like you – whether you're a golfer, runner, or lifter – physical therapy is a powerful tool to elevate your game and safeguard your body, even when you're not currently in pain.
Here's how our specialized approach helps you prevent injuries and improve your performance:
Identify Hidden Weaknesses and Imbalances: Many active individuals have subtle movement limitations or muscle imbalances they're unaware of, which can hinder performance or increase injury risk over time. Our comprehensive assessments (including advanced biomechanical testing, AI running analysis, and TPI golf assessments) pinpoint these issues before they lead to pain or injury.
Optimize Movement Mechanics: Whether it's your golf swing, running stride, or barbell lifting form, even minor inefficiencies can lead to overuse injuries or limit your power. We work with you to refine your technique, ensuring your body moves with optimal efficiency and mechanics, allowing you to generate more force with less strain.
Build Resiliency and Strength: We develop personalized programs that strategically strengthen vulnerable areas and enhance your overall physical capacity. This isn't just about bigger muscles; it's about building a body that is robust, flexible, and capable of withstanding the repetitive stresses and explosive demands of your sport, significantly reducing the likelihood of future setbacks.
Enhance Performance Metrics: By improving your strength, mobility, stability, and movement efficiency, physical therapy directly translates to better athletic outcomes. This could mean increased clubhead speed in golf, improved running economy and speed, or greater strength and confidence in your lifts without compromising your joints.
In essence, engaging in proactive physical therapy at AVION Sports Rehab is an investment in your athletic longevity and peak performance. We help you unlock your full potential, enjoy your sport for years to come, and truly perform without limits.
