Neck and Back: Spine Health & Pain Relief

Herniated Discs & Spinal Stenosis

A herniated disk refers to a problem with the space between vertebrae, called disks, that sit between the bones that stack to help support the spine. There are several types of disc herniation, and these types of injuries result in heightened nervous system responses resulting in muscle guarding. We use advanced management for conditions causing spinal nerve pain. We use targeted physical therapy and specific manual techniques to decompress, stabilize, and help you regain pain free movement. We use a combination of spinal manipulation, dry needling, and movement impairment symptom modification to alleviate pain immediately and regain your function.

Sciatica & Piriformis Syndrome

Piriformis Syndrome causes pain or numbness in your butt, hip or upper leg and can radiate all the way into the foot or toes. It occurs when the piriformis muscle presses on the sciatic nerve. The condition may be caused by injury, swelling, muscle spasms or scar tissue in the piriformis. What we see with active adults is this muscle compensating for the lack of gluteus maximus motor recruitment (strength) and results in trigger points formed in the piriformis musculature. At AVION Sports Rehab we use expert diagnosis and non-surgical relief for radiating sciatica and deep gluteal pain caused by Piriformis Syndrome. Our approach integrates precise Dry Needling and muscle imbalance corrections to reduce the stress causing tightness in the piriformis.

Headaches, Whiplash & Trigger Points

A cervicogenic headache is a common chronic and recurrent headache that usually starts with neck movement. It involves irritation of the trigeminal cervical nucleus resulting in pain from the base of the skull all the way to the front of the eyebrow. We offer targeted treatment for chronic tension headaches, cervicogenic headaches, whiplash recovery, and stubborn trigger points. We restore neck mobility and use techniques like manipulations and Kinetic Cupping to reduce pain severity. Dry Needling has been proven to be extremely effective at alleviating pain often almost immediately for patients with headaches.

Chronic Low Back Pain

There are a multitude of reasons Chronic Low Back Pain can occur and oftentimes is not just one diagnosis or pathology but several. We use a comprehensive solution for all forms of low back pain. We identify the root cause, whether it's from poor posture, instability, muscle performance deficits, mobility deficits and more to deliver personalized programs focused on strength and permanent long term relief.

Chronic Neck Pain

There are many reasons why you can develop chronic neck pain whether it’s from a car accident, posture, trigger points in the suboccipital muscles and more. At AVION Sports Rehab we use a combination of vestibular based cervical stability exercises and modalities to attack the root cause, alleviate pain and build long term relief.

Shoulder Conditions

Rotator Cuff Pain & Impingement

The rotator cuff is made up of 4 muscles: Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus, Subscapularis, and teres minor. Each serves a slightly different role and mechanics. Issues with the rotator cuff muscles can range from a pathology (tendinopathy, tear, bursitis, ect.) to muscle performance deficits and imbalances causing stress and strain in the front and back of the shoulder. We manage non-surgical and post-surgical treatment for Rotator Cuff issues and Shoulder Impingement. We focus on stabilizing the joint and rebuilding rotator cuff strength for pain-free overhead activity, help with night time pain, and improve shoulder function for lifting, golf, running and more.

Shoulder Surgery & Replacement

Shoulder surgeries can be complex and require very skilled rehab to make them successful. The major ones are rotator cuff repairs, labral repairs, shoulder replacement, and a reverse shoulder replacement. We provide dedicated Post-Operative Rehab programs following Shoulder Surgery or Replacement. Our goal is to safely restore your full range of motion, strength, and confidence in the shoulder.

General Shoulder Pain, Arthritis & Tendonitis

Tendonitis or tendinopathy is degradation of the tendon from overuse, imbalances, or excessive loading beyond your muscles capacity. We use an effective treatment for chronic Shoulder Arthritis, inflammation, and Tendonitis involving load management, education, and progressive exercises to get you better. We combine manual therapy with corrective strength training to reduce pain and prevent joint degeneration. A combination of Dry Needling and Blood Flow Restriction training has been proven to be very effective and good for long term tendon health.

Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis)

Extreme stiffness or immobility in the shoulder joint, usually following injury, caused by the adhesions in the joint and inflammation of the capsule. We have specialized treatments to restore mobility for Frozen Shoulder. We use advanced techniques to gently and effectively break up stiffness and regain your arm's functional range of motion.

Elbow and Wrist Conditions

Golfer's Elbow & Tennis Elbow (Tendonitis)

Very common golf, weight lifting, and tennis injuries that are usually a result of repetitive low intensity movements. We use targeted rehab for elbow Tendonitis (medial/lateral). Our techniques, including IASTM and therapeutic exercise, resolve inflammation and strengthen the forearm muscles to stop pain recurrence.

Carpal Tunnel, Numbness & Tingling

We offer expert treatment for nerve compression issues like Carpal Tunnel and related numbness and tingling. We employ nerve gliding, manual release, and Physical Therapy to restore sensation and function. Dry needling and spinal manipulations have been very effective at resolving numbness and tingling going down into the toes, fingers, or back of the leg and shoulder blades.

Trigger Finger & Wrist Sprain

Effective treatment for painful Trigger Finger and acute Wrist Sprains. The wrist and fingers are highly composed of tendons. We focus on restoring tendon glide and wrist stability to ensure a quick, complete return to grip and movement.

Elbow Surgery & Fractures

Comprehensive rehabilitation following Elbow Surgery or Fractures of the arm/wrist. Our care stabilizes the healed bone while restoring joint mobility and strength safely. We use therapies such as redlight therapy to speed up the healing process so you spend less time recovering.

Hip and Pelvis: Power & Stability

Hip Pain, Labral Pain & Instability

Specialized care for deep Hip Pain, joint instability, and potential Labral Pain. We use precision strengthening and mobility work to improve joint integrity and functional stability. Labral pain can appear as anterior hip pain or FAI (femoral acetabular impingement) which is a very difficult diagnosis to treat. Between our skilled evaluations to find the root cause and our sport specific modalities, we can tackle FAI and hip pain very quickly.

FAI: Femoral Acetabular Impingement

FAI is characterized as painful pinching inside your hip joint usually in the front of the hip. Most common types include Cam impingement: this happens when extra bone grows on the top of your thigh bone, pincer impingement, this is extra bony growth in your hip socket, or Combined impingement, this is when you have cam and pincer impingement at the same time. It can also be in combination with hip flexor tendinitis or tendinopathy in which its proximal insertion is at the hip joint. Through our expert evaluation we can determine what is causing your FAI and treat it with precision using our advanced modalities.

SI Joint Pain

Targeted treatment for painful SI Joint Pain. We assess and correct pelvic alignment and address muscle imbalances to stabilize the pelvis, providing long-term relief from low back and hip discomfort. There are many reasons why the SI joint can be in pain, it is characterized as painful inflammation in the joints where your spine connects to your pelvis (your sacroiliac joints). It causes pain in your lower back, butt (your buttock muscles) or legs.

Hamstring, Quad Strain & Hip Flexor Tightness and Tendinopathies

Rapid recovery protocols for severe muscle tears (Hamstring and Quad Strain) and chronic Hip Flexor Tightness. We use techniques like Blood Flow Restriction Training for accelerated, safe healing.

Hip Arthritis & Surgeries

Comprehensive rehabilitation for chronic Hip Arthritis and recovery from Hip Surgeries (including replacement). Our programs are designed to eliminate pain and maximize your mobility and regain your prior level of function.

Knee: Stability and Movement Mechanics

ACL, MCL, LCL, PCL Tears (Ligament Sprains)

Gold-standard Post-Operative Rehab for ACL, MCL, LCL, and PCL tears/sprains. We offer rigorous, science-backed programs to maximize stability and safely return you to sport and activity. The ACL plays a major role for knee stability, supported by the quads, hamstrings, and hip muscles. We extensively tackle the entire complex to give you the best outcomes.

Knee Pain & IT Band Pain

Very common injuries for runners, this is where specific running physical therapy or sports rehab can be vital at your recovery. We have expert solutions for general Knee Pain and lateral IT Band Pain. We analyze your full kinetic chain (hip, ankle, running gait) to correct the movement issues causing your knee stress.

Knee Replacement, Arthritis & Fractures

Pain management and mobility restoration following Knee Replacement, Knee Arthritis, and Fractures. We focus on restoring your walking gait and long-term joint health.

Ankle and Foot: Groundwork for Performance

Plantar Fasciitis & Achilles Pain

Plantar fasciitis is a common condition that causes pain on the bottom of the foot, typically near the heel while achilles pain can be on the heel or higher up the back of the leg. Overuse or repetitive stress on the feet, such as from running, jumping, or standing for long periods. Pronation (arch collapse) of the foot can have contributing factors. Effective treatment for acute and chronic Plantar Fasciitis and Achilles Pain we use hands-on therapy and specialized strengthening exercises to resolve heel and foot pain at the source.

Ankle Sprain & Instability

From acute Ankle Sprain to chronic Ankle Instability, we retrain proprioception and rebuild essential strength for durable, reliable stability during movement and sport. Very common running and crossfit injury that involve the ligaments of the ankle.
